The ceramics company Villeroy & Boch has its headquarters in Mettlach, the general management is located in the former Benedictine abbey just a few hundred meters from the hotel.

Several companies are also based in the neighboring district town of Merzig, which can be easily reached from here in around 15 minutes without traffic jams.

The cities of Trier, Luxembourg, Metz and Thionville can be reached within 45 minutes.

Nationalpark Hunsrück-Hochwald

The biological hotspot
between Celts and Romans.

The Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park covers an area of 10,000 hectares across the high altitudes of the Hunsrück. The Federal Agency for Nature Conservation already classifies the area as a “hotspot region for biological diversity”. Rustic forests and a species-rich flora and fauna characterize the landscape.

The landscape is characterized by a low mountain range with seemingly endless areas of forest and separates it from the surrounding, well-known wine-growing regions, the Moselle, the Rhine, the Nahe and the Saar.
