If you are traveling to Mettlach by train, just let us know – we will be happy to pick you up at the station. This service is of course free of charge.
Cyclists will find us directly on the Saar cycle path, hikers on the Saarland circular hiking trail.
You can park your car for the duration of your stay in one of our parking lots at the house.
Travel by car / motorcycle:
Coming from Mannheim/Kaiserslautern/Saarbrücken, take the A8 to the “Merzig-Schwemlingen/Ballern” exit. There, take the B51 in the direction of Trier.
You will pass along Merzig-Besseringen to Mettlach and come to the Saar under a bridge (Mettlach landing stage). Turn left in the direction of “Orscholz” and cross the bridge over the Saar.
Our house is located immediately after the bridge on the left-hand side of the road.
Coming from Trier, follow the Moselle and from Konz via Saarburg follow the Saar on the B51 towards Saarbrücken. In Mettlach, follow the main road in the direction of “Orscholz” and cross the bridge over the Saar.

Travel by bike:
Coming from Saarbrücken/Saarlouis/Merzig, take the Saar Cycle Path through the Saar Loop to Mettlach. If you are cycling on the right-hand side of the Saar, you must change sides at the lock. Approx. 500 m after the lock, turn slightly left away from the river and join the road. You are now directly at the Hotel Haus Schons.
Coming from Trier/Konz/Saarburg, follow the Saar cycle path in the direction of Mettlach. If you have ridden on the side of the road, you must cross the bridge in the direction of “Orscholz”. Our house is located immediately after the bridge on the left-hand side of the road.
If you have driven on the left side of the Saar, you will pass the Lutwinus Chapel, the park of Saareck Castle and come to the main road in the direction of Orscholz above the bridge. Immediately opposite you will see the Hotel Haus Schons.
